Who are these men?
The men who attend the Southside Men's Group represent a diversity of ages, backgrounds and experiences. They are single, married, childless, fathers, grandfathers, professional men, and laborers. Some men have been attending the group's meetings for more than 30 years; others are just beginning. They are all bound by a commitment to personal growth and a belief in the power of a supportive community.

Earnie Larsen started it all
One day, Earnie Larsen asked a friend if he'd like to talk about the challenge of balancing work and family. The topic was so important, and universal, that those two grew to a dozen men; and then three dozen; and to almost 90 men meeting once-a-week to discuss that and other issues.
That was over 35 years ago in the north-metro. The Southside Men's Group spun off. Both groups continue to meet. Earnie Larsen worked professionally with 12-step, recovery, and personal-change programs. With degrees in counseling, education, and theology, Earnie lectured, counseled, and conducted workshops and seminars on improving interpersonal relationships. He is the author of thirty books.
